For some unexplainable reason people believe they need some sort of fancy gym equipment or fancy routine to build muscle. I am here to tell you that you can build some serious muscle just using dumbbells alone. The whole process of weight lifting is simply picking up a weight multiple times. Your muscles do not have a special brain within them that says "If I am not picking up something fancy or doing it in a fancy way, I refuse to grow."
If a pillow case is filled with stones and curled everyday you will eventually see your bicep growing. My point is your muscles cannot tell the difference in what your lifting whether its some fancy machine or a bucket of stones. If its heavy enough and lifted long enough you will grow. With this use of common sense you can clearly see that dumbbells alone are viable enough to train with if need be. You can get a full body workout with just dumbbells alone.
Chest Exercises- Dumbbell flies and dumbbell bench press (if you have a bench)
Bicep Exercises- Bicep curl and hammer curl
Tricep Exercises- Dumbbell kickbacks and seated triceps press
Shoulder Exercises- Dumbbell military press and side lateral raises
Back Exercises- Dumbbell row, dumbbell shrugs and straight leg dead lifts
Leg Exercises- Dumbbell squats, lunges and dumbbell step ups
Calf Exercises Calf raises and calf raises on a dumbbell
This list above is a guide showing some of the exercises that can be done with just dumbbells alone. If you have the proper dumbbell weight your workouts will be just as effective as that fancy machine. Like all workout plans they need to be used in conjunction with a solid diet plan in order to be maximally effective. Dumbbells alone combined with a solid diet will provide you with very good results.
